We are a well-reputable and established Ghanaian company engaged in the trading of key agricultural commodities such as roasted cashew, cooking oil, and rice. With operational offices and branches in India and Vietnam, we are strategically positioned to serve global markets. As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are expanding into new frontiers, with upcoming offices in Côte d’Ivoire and other African countries. Building on our strong trading foundation, we are now diversifying into the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector with the launch of premium rice and cooking oil brands in Ghana.Job PurposeAs part of this exciting new product launch, the Key Account Manager – Modern Trade will play a critical role in driving market entry and brand growth across Ghana’s leading retail and modern trade outlets. This role demands a commercially astute professional with the ability to secure product listings, build long-term partnerships, and implement winning sales strategies.You will be responsible for ensuring our rice and cooking oil brands gain prime shelf space and visibility in chains such as Melcom, Max Mart, Palace Hypermarkets, Marina Mall, fuel station supermarkets, and other retail networks.[ad]Key Responsibilities1. Market Entry & Launch Execution
  • Develop and implement launch strategies for rice and cooking oil into modern trade outlets.
  • Secure product listings and shelf space with key retail partners.
  • Negotiate listing fees, trade terms, and promotional plans.
2. Account Management
  • Manage and grow relationships with key decision-makers in assigned accounts.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with accounts to track sales performance and resolve issues.
  • Monitor stock levels, delivery schedules, and in-store merchandising execution.
3. Sales & Target Achievement
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Develop account-specific sales and promotional plans to drive sell-in and sell-through.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends in the modern trade segment.
4. Merchandising & Visibility
  • Work with merchandisers to ensure proper product display, pricing compliance, and promotional setup.
  • Ensure product freshness and proper rotation.
  • Drive in-store activations and tasting campaigns to encourage trial and repeat purchases.
5. Reporting & Insights
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market feedback, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Recommend adjustments to strategies based on data insights and market intelligence.
Required Skills or ExperienceQualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in key account management, preferably in FMCG or retail distribution.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and growing products in modern trade channels.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
