- To provide high-level, confidential and strategic administrative support to the country director (CD), ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Ghana Country office with respect to functions covering Human resource management, procurement transport and protocol services
- MBA or equivalent in job relevant subject
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, international relations, public health, environmental science or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar executive or senior administrative support role
- Demonstrated experience in a non-profit, humanitarian or development organization, with direct involvement or a good understanding of WASH programmes, would be an advantage
- Proven experience working in a Ghanaian or African context, with an understanding of the socio-political and cultural dynamic of the sector
- Organisational and Time management exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Communication, excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and reports in English
- Interpersonal skills: A high degree of diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality, ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical proficiency: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new software and tools
- Initiative and problem-solving, a proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to anticipate needs and resolve issues independently
- Sector knowledge, a good understanding of the WASH sector. SDGs, including key challenges in Africa (e.g climate change water scarcity and sanitation access), programme methodologies and monitoring and evaluation practices
- Values: A strong commitment to the IRC’s mission and values, with an understanding of gender equity and cultural sensitivity in programme delivery
