- Reports To: Director of Programmes
- Provide technical assistance to the GES National ECE Unit in the training of national and district trainers on the National KG INSET Manual on the KG Curriculum and on play-based learning methodologies.
- Support master trainers and national trainers to ensure effective training delivery and adherence to the National KG INSET manual.
- At the request of the National ECE Unit and the Technical Assistance Partners, facilitate workshops or meetings that enhance the skills of trainers in delivering effective teacher training programs.
- Contribute to current efforts to engage partners from the education non-state sector in Ghana and like-minded organizations to scale transformational best practices in early childhood education to low-fee private schools.
- Work with Sabre colleagues and partners in expanding and sharing Sabre's work at sub-national, national, and global levels.
- Support the expansion of Sabre's activities into new countries, regions, districts, and colleges.
- Expand the organization's interest in the area of early childhood education through engagement with local and international groups that promote best practices in this sector of education.
- Provide mentorship and support to other Sabre staff who are assigned to ECE content development to a level where you are able to delegate specific job tasks on an ongoing basis.
- Lead in the development and review of content and materials for child-centred, activity-based ECE (KG to Primary 3) for the training of teachers, headteachers, proprietors and other education officials.
- Review important content on Early Childhood Education produced by Sabre Education before these are shared as presentations, speeches, press releases, or posted on the organization’s website.
- Follow up on research in the area of Early Childhood Education to inform the organization on innovation and changes within the sector.
- Contribute to the bank of Sabre Education teacher training content and tools and ensure that these are well organized and stored in a safe and secure location, free from unauthorized access and editing.
- Review and/or develop training content and materials for the delivery of the active play-based methodology for Sabre Education training in its direct implementation workstreams.
- Direct point of contact for the Programme Manager and the district programme officers on ECE technical expertise related to a portfolio of direct implementation projects.
- Provide quality assurance and support for all ECE programmes (from KG to Primary 3) being implemented within the organization, working in coordination with other Technical and Programme Managers.
- Provide technical support for the implementation of Sabre’s transformational Teacher Training (TTT) programmes with private-sector (non-state actors) players. This involves engaging private school associations and their members.
- Collaborate with other Sabre staff in the engagement with Ghana Education Service (GES), civil society organizations, private school actors and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and coordination of training efforts.
- Participate in regular update sessions (e.g., Technical Assistance Partners meetings), working closely with key stakeholders such as GES, private school actors and NGO partners.
- Work as an advocate for Sabre Education's ECE programme and promote the use of the active play-based methodology to interest groups.
- Support Sabre Education advocacy initiatives by getting involved in public-facing events on early childhood education content, policy engagement, and partnership development.
- Continuously monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the ECE training you supported to deliver through daily and “end of training” reviews against a robust framework on quality and other requirements.
- Implement a continuous programme/project improvement cycle, working closely with the learning team to incorporate useful lessons learnt into programme/project implementation.
- Contribute to the design, planning, budgeting and execution of ECE (KG to Primary 3) programmes within the organization.
- Participate actively in programme team engagements as well as strategic meetings and scheduled update sessions organized by senior leadership.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on program activities, outcomes, and challenges for submission to the Director of Programmes.
- A minimum of Masters/Post-graduate degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Grade Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in program coordination and management, particularly in educational settings.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles, early learning standards and play-based learning methodologies is essential.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in curriculum development would be an advantage.
