We are seeking a blue-blooded auditor with exceptionally strong technical accounting skills and at least seven years' experience in a multinational, multi-currency environment. You will develop, monitor, and improve control systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance across the organisation.This role demands rigorous technical expertise, strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a dedication to continuous improvement. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate accounting, robust controls, and actionable financial insights.You should expect to be challenged and, at times, to work beyond your core responsibilities to support broader organisational needs.Location:Our preference is to hire a candidate based in Ghana; however, we will also consider strong candidates from Kenya or South Africa.Key Relationships & Stakeholders:

Core Responsibilities1. Financial Reporting
  • Prepare, review, and support timely financial reports to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring accurate transaction recording and compliance with established protocols.
  • Verify that revenue and cost of sales are recorded in line with contractual agreements.
  • Manage purchase order creation, approval processes, and billing activities.
  • Drive continuous process improvements in accounting operations for greater accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide clear, insightful commentary on financial statements to support decision-making.
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare and submit finance-related regulatory returns within required timelines.
  • Ensure the stability and consistency of the organization's financial controls environment.
2. Reconciliations
  • Perform and review monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Conduct analytical reviews for the statement of financial position and statement of profit or loss, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
3. Audit
  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of internal and external audits.
  • Provide auditors with required documentation, explanations, and reconciliations.
4. Business Advisory and Partnering
  • Assist in conducting project feasibility studies and appraisals.
  • Collaborate with management to design and implement effective business controls.
  • Provide accurate financial data and analysis to support sound business decision-making.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement internal control and risk management frameworks.
  • Advise management on the application of accounting standards and legislation.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to propose best practice recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Chartered, Certified, or Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Previous strong experience in auditing is a plus and willingness to continue building a career in that path.
Required Knowledge and ExperienceMust-have experience:
  • Financial reporting and analysis.
  • Audit processes and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles and financial management.
  • High-level competence in ERP systems — Netsuite experience is essential.
Experience that will be an advantage:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Experience in multi-currency, multi-geography, and high-growth environments, preferably within fintech.
  • Strong ERP system knowledge, especially in Netsuite.
  • Audit experience is critical to the success of this role (internal or external).
Nice-to-have experience:
  • Knowledge of the payments industry.
  • Experience working in a fintech or technology-driven environment.
  • Exposure to cross-border payment systems or settlement processes.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and other global accounting standards.
