- The General Manager oversees the staff, budgets, and business operations, which includes implementing the overall business strategy and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
- He/She must be a thoughtful leader, confident decision-maker, self-starter, and possesses a positive/energetic attitude.
- Oversee to the operations of the roofing business
- Design strategy and set goals for growth
- Work with a wide range of employees, customers, suppliers, and third-party service providers to achieve the overall goals of the company
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
- Establish, or ensure adherence to policies and processes
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee the recruitment and training of new employees
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Prepare regular reports for upper management
- Ensure staff follows Health and Safety regulations
- Provide solutions to issues (e.g., profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
- A minimum of Degree in a recognized institution.
- Proven experience as a General Manager and/or similar executive role in a similar business
- 5+ years of commercial roofing experience
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business processes and functions (Finance, HR, Marketing, Procurement, Production, etc.)
- Must possess a results-driven attitude and the ability to problem-solve
- Excellent time management and strong organizational skills
- Strong communication/writing skills
- Demonstrate efficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
