- Serve as a point of contact between investors and the company. This includes providing financial and non-financial information to investors, financial analysts and their representatives in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide key input to Board input involving investor concerns.
- Develop and maintain a company investor relations plan.
- Perform a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation.
- Ensure that the statutory provisions and the provisions of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Code, regarding communications with investors and shareholders, are met.
- Deliver business value through partnership with MTN Ghana’s Ecosystem Partners (Securities and Exchange Commission, equity investors, debt investors and other relevant stakeholders).
- Develop and monitor performance metrics for the investor relations function. This is inclusive of benchmarking Investor Relations performance and continuously strive for improvement.
- Monitor operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management and develop investor relations messages based on these changes.
- Serve as the liaison for the investment community by collaborating with Corporate Affairs (Internal Communications), towards ensuring that all communications are appropriate for external delivery regarding Investor Relations. This will involve creating presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors.
- Oversee the development of materials for Stock Exchange announcement, conference call scripts, Q&As and presentations for quarterly, interim and year end.
- Manage the investor relations portion of the company web site and maintain relationships with stock exchange representatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stock exchange representatives as well as develop a good rapport with analysts and fund managers to establish mutual trust and respect.
- Provide feedback to management regarding the investment community’s perception of how the company is being managed, and their view of its financial results as well as Oversee the timely communication to all investor relations queries in an appropriate manner.
- Collate, analyze, and present the views of the investor community to the management team in the development of corporate strategy.
- Provide feedback to the management team regarding the impact of stock repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community.
- Project manage and facilitate results announcement (in collaboration with Corporate Affairs), events and other investor relations events
- Contribute to shaping, articulating, and managing the investment story of MTN Ghana
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field of study.
- Legal/Financial law experience or qualification is an added advantage
- Certification in Banking and/or Professional qualification (ACCA, CA etc.) a must.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in managing investor relations, preferably in a multinational organization
- Track record/Evidence of significant business & social network.
- Good understanding of mobile telecoms industry preferred
- Ability to understand and interpret financial statements
- Knowledge of Ghana’s securities and company laws and regulations.
