As we scale our impact across Ghana and beyond, we are looking for a strategic Programs Lead. A strategic thinker, analytical problem-solver, and field-savvy professional — to help design, implement, and manage high-impact development initiatives that improve livelihoods across rural Africa to join our team.Your Mission:Support evidence-based decision-making, lead economic research, and manage the design and delivery of development projects that directly benefit rural communities across Africa. Your insights will strengthen Esoko’s products, inform rural development policy, and unlock funding through strong proposals and strategic partnerships.What You’ll Do:
  • Develop Proposals in line with requirements from international development organizations
  • Work with partners to design projects implementation plans, M&E systems and lead in the field level implementation of such plans
  • Conduct market research, economic analysis of agricultural systems, rural development issues, market dynamics, and farmer behavior
  • Build and apply economic models to assess impact and cost-effectiveness of interventions
  • Support proposal development and donor engagement, including writing technical inputs and reports
  • Manage and implement agricultural research and development projects end-to-end
  • Lead baseline and impact evaluations using farmer and market data
  • Translate findings into actionable insights for Esoko’s digital advisory services and products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align economic insights with business and field operations
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead in technical writing for proposal development, including economic rationale and projected impact.
  • Present research insights to internal teams, external partners, and donors using written reports, decks, and data visualizations.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and team deliverables to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Coordinate with field teams and supervise data collection or external consultants where applicable.
Working Conditions:This role is based at the Esoko office in Accra. It may involve occasional travel (up to 25%) to project sites or stakeholder meetings across Ghana. Esoko offers a collaborative, purpose-driven team culture and a compensation package aligned with experience and industry standards.[ad2]Required Skills or ExperienceWhat We’re Looking For:
  • MSc/MPhil in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Development Economics/Policy, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in applied research, economic and policy studies, project implementation, or consulting
  • Strong skills in proposal writing, budgeting, and donor reporting (e.g., for USAID, GIZ, IFAD)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills in designing and implementing complex projects
  • Quantitative proficiency (e.g., Stata, Excel, R, Python) and comfortable working with complex datasets and presenting high level analytical reports
  • Strong report writing skills and ability to deliver high level professional reports, infographics to various stakeholder groups
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and fluency in English Language
  • Familiarity with smallholder farming contexts, rural livelihoods, and agri-market systems in Africa is a plus
  • Knowledge of French of any other international language is an advantage.
