  • oversees a company’s credit function, which includes evaluating the creditworthiness of potential customers, establishing credit policies, and managing accounts receivable to minimize risk and ensure timely payments.
  • Key responsibilities involve analyzing financial data, approving or rejecting credit applications, setting credit limits, negotiating loan terms, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Creditworthiness evaluation: Assessing the credit history and financial stability of potential and existing customers to determine their ability to repay debt.
  • Policy development: Creating, implementing, and updating the company’s credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and minimize financial risk.
  • Credit limit management: Setting and managing credit limits for customers based on risk assessment and company policy.
  • Risk mitigation: Monitoring loans, managing collections, and overseeing bad debts to protect the company’s financial health.
  • Financial analysis: Analyzing financial statements and using credit scoring models to make informed credit decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all credit-granting activities adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Reporting: Preparing and presenting credit reports to senior management.
  • Customer relations: Working with customers to negotiate terms, manage payments, and resolve issues, and collaborating with the sales department.
Qualification Required & Experience
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree /HND in marketing, accounting, banking, finance, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of post-qualification and work experience in a micro credit environment.
