Reporting to - Human Resource& Administrative Manager
Location: - TemaObjectives
- This position will assist in the following functional areas: recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, training, performance management, regulatory compliance of labour matters, and ensuring the smooth operation of the branch HR department.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process including: preparing job descriptions, job advertisements, shortlisting, arrange for interviews, conduct employment verifications or reference checks on possible employment candidates, arrange for new recruits / employees to undertake pre-entry medical examinations at designated medical centres, prepare offer letters etc.
- Assist newrecruit/employees with onboarding/induction.
- Maintain healthy employee and industrial relations by handling all issues presented by unionized staff such as grievances, disputes, counselling, and interface with mother union
- Providesupport to the HR Manager to render HR services (i.e., Recruitment, Training & Development, Performance Appraisal, Salary administration) to facilitate timely delivery
- Provide counseling to staff about any problems they may have either at work or personally.
- Maintains personnel records and HR information system to facilitate easy retrieval of personal data when required and respond rapidly to line management requests for information and advice on staff.
- Assist the HR Manager in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects and maintain records of same.
- Assist in thegrievance handling and management on the disciplinary process.
- Conduct exit interviews on employees leaving the services of the Company.
- Support the development of HR initiatives, systems and programs
- Assist in performance management process.
- Organize training and development programs for staff.
- Ensure that the human resource and administrative database are accurately recorded, updated and cross checked regularly.
- Disseminate information through sending or pasting memos or information to the attention of employees as directed.
- Provide support to the entire HR Team.
- Submit weekly human resource and administrative reports to the HR Manager.
- First Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Social Science from a recognized institution.
- Master's Degree is desirable.
- Licensed Member of a recognized or certified Human Resource Professional body/group.
- Experience of working in a similar role-minimum of three (3) years post qualification.
- Experience of working in a Freight Forwarding/Logistics & Transport Company will be an added advantage.
- Knowledgeable in human resource management best practices.
- Understanding of keeping personnel information confidential.
- Understanding of Ghana LabourLaws and disciplinary procedures.
- Coordinating with managers, employees, clients and other stakeholders to achieve results.
- Excellent communication skills.
