- Develop and implement transport and logistics strategies, policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of persons, goods and materials
- Plan and coordinate transport and logistics operations including distribution, warehousing and inventory management to meet the requirements of the Parliamentary Service
- Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines and other regulatory requirements and safety standards governing transportation, warehousing and distribution activities, maintaining documentation and records
- Establish and implement a system for vehicle fleet allocation, scheduling and routing, documentation, registration and planned maintenance
- Advise on technical requirements in the acquisition and procurement of vehicles and logistics for the Parliamentary service
- Propose new or improved administrative, stores and clerical procedures to maintain economy and efficiency to stores operations
- Monitor the effective management of all stores activities of Parliamentary Services
- Liaise with departments to establish minimum, reordering and maximum stock levels of materials and monitor to ensure compliance
- Prepare stores code or vocabulary, standards and materials specifications for easy identification and retrieval of store items
- Maintain and update records on all stores transactions
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Clerk to Parliament
- A good first degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Planning and Management, Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification work experience plus a Master's degree in the relevant discipline and at least 3 years in a position analogous to a Deputy Director in a public service institution OR
- A Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Planning and Management, Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification work experience and at least 3 years in a position analogous to a Deputy Director in a public service institution
