Job DescriptionProject Maji is a Safe Water Enterprise(SWE) that seeks to recruit Field Installation and Service Technician.Installation
  • Install equipment and water systems at site locations according to specifications and organisation
  • Ensure all installations are completed on time and meet quality requirements
  • Test installed equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance
Maintenance and Repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance on installed equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Diagnose and repair issue on-site, ensuring minimal downtime of sites
  • Provide technical support and guidance to caretakers and users regarding equipment use and maintenance
Customer Service
  • Communicate effectively with users and caretakers to understand their needs and address any concerns
  • Provide training on the proper use and maintenance of installed equipment
  • Maintain a professional and positive relationship with caretakers and users, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
Documentation
  • Maintain accurate step-by-step records of installations, maintenance and repairs
  • Complete service reports and documentation for each job, ensuring detailed and clear records
  • Keep inventory of parts and tools and reports any shortages or needs for replenishment
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide feedback to management through supervisors and managers
Qualification Required & Experience
  • Certificate in technical certification in Electrical and plumbing works
  • 2 years experience in sola industry, pump installations
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively community engagement skills
Working Conditions
  • Work on mechanical assembly, solar pump installation, plumbing work (training will be provided)
  • Ability to work in various environments, including remote sites, outdoor locations and confined spaces
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and tools willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. (will be compensated as per organisation standard)
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in remote villages (using local transportation if need arises)
