We are seeking an organized and proactive Distribution Manager (Acting, 6 months) to lead distribution operations in Ghana. This is an acting appointment from 4th September 2023 to February 2024. The ideal candidate will drive the performance and effectiveness of our distribution function, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure timely delivery and management of our products across the market. Performance during this period will determine long-term retention in the role.What do we expect from the candidate?
As Distribution Manager, you will optimize distribution channels and processes, maintain operations excellence, and manage logistics, inventory, and stakeholder relationships. You will report directly to senior management.Key responsibilities:
· Oversee the planning and execution of daily distribution activities to ensure efficient supply of products nationwide.
· Coordinate with supply chain and production teams to align delivery schedules and stock levels.
· Implement and monitor distribution policies for timely delivery and inventory management.
· Supervise direct reports under the distribution function and foster team development.
· Liaise with internal departments to address distribution challenges and maintain operational quality.
· Ensure compliance with company standards and regulations in all distribution activities.
· Report regularly on distribution performance, inventory, and logistics.Must-Have:
· At least 5 years of experience in distribution management, logistics, or related supply chain roles.
· Proven ability to lead teams and deliver operational results in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
· Experience working with inventory management tools or ERP systems.
· Knowledge of Ghana’s supply chain and distribution landscape.Nice-to-Have:
· Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex logistics projects.
· Proficiency with reporting and data analysis tools.
