We are seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic Regional Business Manager – Chemicals for our Ghana operations. The ideal candidate will lead the commercial growth of the Industrial Chemical Business Unit, develop business plans for new market segments, and position SOLEVO as the market leader. This leadership role covers commercial structure, business development, customer portfolio management, and team coaching. Reporting to senior management, the role interfaces closely with the Managing Director, Group Head of Industrial Chemicals, and cross-functional teams.What do we expect from the candidate?
As Regional Business Manager – Chemicals, the primary responsibility is to design and manage optimal commercial structures for the Industrial Chemicals Business Unit, drive sustainable value creation, and convert market presence into tangible commercial results. The role demands in-depth market understanding, strategic execution, and leadership in both customer and team management.Key responsibilities:
· Define and implement commercial strategies for industrial chemicals, mapping priority segments and business opportunities.
· Build a pipeline of opportunities and develop detailed business plans for long-term regional success.
· Manage and optimize the customer portfolio, including key accounts and multinational clients; conduct regular visits and technical support.
· Drive price, volume, receivables, and inventory management to achieve business objectives.
· Monitor competitor activity and lead actions to sustain competitive advantage.
· Coordinate supply, inventory, and S&OP processes with the production and supply chain teams.
· Plan and forecast sales, margin, and volume targets over rolling and multi-year horizons.
· Ensure strict credit policy and receivables management.
· Analyze P&L statements, customer financials, and competitor data to inform tactical decisions.
· Lead, coach, and motivate a high-performing sales team; set operational targets and drive reporting processes.Must-Have:
· Master’s degree in Economics, Management, or equivalent; an additional degree in Chemistry is a plus.
· At least 5 years’ senior experience in sales management, preferably in chemicals or · · industrial markets.
· Robust financial literacy, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis.
· Demonstrated experience building and leading sales forces.
· In-depth knowledge of Ghana's industrial and chemical market dynamics.Nice-to-Have:
· Familiarity with global and local chemical industry players.
· Experience managing multinational accounts and developing cross-functional teams.
· Negotiation, business development, and sales management expertise.
· Additional language skills (local languages or French) is a plus.Competencies:
