This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in complex, high-accountability Africa projects where structure, discipline and accurate contract administration directly influence project success.Why This Role MattersThis is not a paper-pushing contracts role.
You will be the person who keeps the project contractually safe — documenting daily events, managing claims timelines, administering the Red Book requirements and ensuring the project team maintains commercial alignment with the contract.Your work will directly impact:

This role suits someone who has stood on a project site, understands the pressures on Construction Managers and QS teams, and can translate those realities into contractually compliant documentation and claims.Key Responsibilities
  • Contract administration in line with FIDIC 2017 Red Book
  • Management and recording of claims, variations and notices
  • Development of monthly systems to support invoicing
  • Daily diary management and meeting administration
  • Close collaboration with Senior QS and Construction Manager
  • Daily reporting to the Project Manager
  • Weekly technical reporting to the Project Director
  • Supporting site teams with contract clarity, documentation and commercial compliance
  • General project administration aligned to EPC project controls
Role Structure
  • Rotation: 8 weeks on / 3 weeks off
  • Location: West Africa (project site-based)
  • Employment: Contract-based expat assignment
  • Salary: USD 9 000 – 11 000 per month (plus expat benefits)
  • Benefits: Accommodation, transport/driver, mobile phone, workstation, flights, and reimbursed project-related expenses
What You Need to Bring
  • Proven experience working under the FIDIC Red Book (2017 preferred)
  • Strong claims understanding and the ability to protect contractual entitlement
  • Experience working in EPC, mining, SMPP or heavy industrial projects
  • Ability to work in remote Africa environments
  • Excellent communication, reporting and documentation discipline
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to work closely with QS and site leadership
  • South African nationality preferred (expat rotation requirements)
