  • The Finance Officer will support financial bookkeeping, reconciliations, analysing of all financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting and legal requirements, and budget preparations.
[ad]MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in maintaining and reviewing financial records.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting and tax laws.
  • Assist in preparing budgets.
  • Monitor expenditure, profits and provide reports.
  • Evaluate internal management systems, procedures and risks to provide recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal procedures.
  • Maintain petty cash on daily basis, preparing monthly reports and posting data on system on timely manner.
  • Prepare periodic bank reconciliation statement for assigned accounts.
  • Maintain record-keeping books and reconcile the accounts on timely manner.
  • Prepare vouchers and process payments.
  • Validate and send BOG prudential returns.
  • Liaise with the respective stakeholders in submitting returns and maintaining proper compliance.
  • Manage accounts receivables and payables.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor
Safeguarding Responsibilities
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Required Skills or ExperienceSPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
  • At least a first Degree in Accounting/Banking and Finance/Related Disciplines
  • Professional Certification preferred
  • Concentration / Major: Accounting/Banking and Finance/Related Disciplines
EXPERIENCE (Including sector/industry)
  • A minimum of first degree or its equivalent in accounting or similar disciplines
  • A minimum of three years post-qualification experience in accounting in the financial services industry.
  • Proficient in the use of MS 365 Office, BoG ORASS and T24 Platform
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in applying IFRS
  • Intermediate or advanced user of MS Excel (a practical test will be conducted before interview)

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in applying IFRS
