
Youth Education & Gender Project Officer - Strategic Partnership by Oxfam

- A minimum of four years relevant work experience in a similar position specifically focused on youth development, gender equality in education, mainstreaming, equity and general women's rights
- University degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences or in any relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in advocacy and influencing
- Solid understanding of the context of youth, gender, education laws and policies in Ghana
- Strong knowledge of women's rights, gender and human rights, social inclusion and women economic empowerment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and working skills in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
- Ability to work with several stakeholders, especially young people and youth-led organisations
- Have a strong interpersonal influence with skills and work experience in relationship building, in an international organization.
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Power Point).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate.
- Availability to travel within Ghana to Programme sites sometimes including on weekends
- Experience in risks assessments and compliance with laws in an international NGO context.
- Commitment to Oxfam's mission and values, including the promotion of equality between women and men.
- Experience with delivering gender and youth related capacity building interventions
- Knowledge and experience with youth, education and gender approaches and tools
- Strong learning process, facilitating skills, research and interview skills, and knowledge management
- Commitment to equal opportunity, gender equality and the principles of diversity.
- Experience with youth partnership development and management.
- Demonstrate creativity and innovative mindset
- Working proficiency in Ghanaian languages is highly desirable.
