Following the accreditation and re-accreditation of our new and revised undergraduate programmes, we are seeking to make further appointments in particular subject areas to enhance our Mechanical department.The successful candidate must have proven leadership skills and a passion for excellence. A strong sense of ethics and concern for the well-being of students is vital to succeed in this position.The Faculty Assistant is responsible for assisting faculty in delivering coursework for Industrial and Systems Engineering classes by supporting lectures, conducting lab sessions, grading assignments, and helping students understand complex technical material.Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment used in industrial engineering experiments (e.g., manufacturing simulation tools, ergonomic assessment devices, quality control instruments).
- Assist faculty and students in the preparation and execution of lab exercises and experiments, and delivery of lectures.
- Conduct or supervise lab sessions and provide hands-on support to students.
- Grade assignments, exams, and projects fairly and promptly.
- Hold office hours to provide additional academic support and answer student questions.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and exams.
- Monitor student progress and report any issues to the instructor.
- Support classroom technology setup and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of course material and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
- Reliable and able to manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with simulation software preferred.
