- The successful candidate will deliver educational instruction to students and facilitate their academic, social, and emotional development. He/she will prepare lesson plans, assess student performance, and create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Teaching Physical and Health Education as well as sports in the University of Ghana Basic School.
- Planning and leading PHE lessons, getting students to compete in sporting events and evaluating their performance.
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that adhere to state and school curriculum standards.
- Using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
- Integrating technology and interactive activities to enhance learning.
- Maintaining an orderly and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establishing and enforcing rules for behaviour and procedures for maintaining order.
- Addressing and resolving any disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Designing and administering assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Using assessment data to modify teaching strategies and improve student learning outcomes.
- Identifying and supporting students with special needs, collaborating with special education staff as necessary.
- Offering extra help and tutoring for students who need additional support.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborating with colleagues, school administrators, and support staff to enhance the educational experience.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and policies.
- Maintaining accurate and complete records of student performance and attendance.
- Preparing reports and attending staff meetings and parent-teacher conferences.
- Adhering to school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
- He or she may be required to perform duties as may be required by the Head of School
- Supervise practical PHE lessons, including both indoor and outdoor classes
- Ensure that students compete to their ability level and are not exposed unnecessary injury and illness through school sports.
- Motivate UBS pupils to take up new sports or athletic pursuits.
- Evaluate the performance of pupils throughout the school year.
- Train and coach UBS sports teams to compete and succeed in both internal and external sporting events.
- Transport individual competitors, school teams and other teachers to and from school sporting events.
- Ensure that pupils pass their practical and theoretical PHE examinations.
- have a diploma or bachelor's degree in physical education, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Fitness, Kinesiology, or Human Physiology.
- have at least 2 years post-qualification experience at basic, high school and /or college school level could be an added advantage.
- have a pleasant personality. Thus, he/she must be sincere, flexible, courteous, tolerant, respectful and an all-around likable person.
- have the ability to plan PE programmes for physical and health wellbeing of students.
- have the ability to organize competitions.
- be proficient in practical skills.
- have leadership skills in the field of Physical and Health Education (PHE) and Sports.

- Two reference letters from persons familiar with the applicant's work. The reference letters should, among other things, include the following information on the candidate: Professional competence and work output, interpersonal skills and leadership abilities and sense of responsibility.
