A fast-growing, flexible-packaging manufacturer in Accra now seeks a high caliber HR Assistant for its Manufacturing Plant in Spintex.Position Summary
To support the HR department in handling daily administrative tasks, employee records, recruitment processes, and staff welfare activities, ensuring smooth HR operations in line with company policies and labor regulations.Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate induction programs for new hires (plant safety, HR policies, company culture).
  • Maintain candidate databases and track recruitment status.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee personal files, attendance, and leave records.
  • Update HR software/ERP with employee data (new hires, transfers, resignations).
  • Assist in issuing HR-related letters (employment confirmation, transfers, warnings).
  • Prepare and circulate internal communication such as memos and notices.
  • Collect and verify attendance and overtime records for payroll processing.
  • Assist the HR Manager in preparing monthly payroll inputs.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits (health insurance, allowances, leave).
  • Handle basic queries from employees regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Ensure employee records are aligned with labour law requirements.
  • Assist in preparing reports for regulatory authorities when required.
  • Support audits related to HR, compliance, and certifications (e.g., ISO, BRC).
  • Act as the first point of contact for basic employee queries.
  • Support the organisation of staff training and welfare activities.
  • Assist in handling employee grievances and escalating issues to the HR Manager.
  • Maintain training calendars and attendance records.
  • Assist in preparing training materials and evaluation forms.
  • Track employee skill development and maintain training database.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–2 years’ HR experience (manufacturing sector experience is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of HR practices, payroll basics, and labor law compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HR software/ERP systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
