Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and Reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g, GAAP).
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to streamline operations.
General Ledger Oversight
  • Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure all accounts are reconciled regularly.
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments prepared by the accounting team.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Collaborate with the Management team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide insights to management
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow projections to support financial planning
Compliance and Audit
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax laws, and company policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits
  • Identify and mitigate risks by implementing and enforcing internal controls.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Accounts Officers and Accounts Clerks.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the accounting team.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight
  • Monitor the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Review reports and follow up on payments or outstanding receivables.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of payables and receivables.
Special Projects and Analysis
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead or assist in special projects, such as system implementations or process improvements.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Adherence to budgets and financial plans.
  • Compliance with regulatory and internal control standards.
  • Team performance and efficiency in completing tasks.
Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
