- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g, GAAP).
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to streamline operations.
- Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure all accounts are reconciled regularly.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments prepared by the accounting team.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with the Management team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide insights to management
- Assist in the preparation of cash flow projections to support financial planning
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax laws, and company policies.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits
- Identify and mitigate risks by implementing and enforcing internal controls.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Accounts Officers and Accounts Clerks.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the accounting team.
- Monitor the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Review reports and follow up on payments or outstanding receivables.
- Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of payables and receivables.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead or assist in special projects, such as system implementations or process improvements.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Adherence to budgets and financial plans.
- Compliance with regulatory and internal control standards.
- Team performance and efficiency in completing tasks.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
