Job Vacancy For Head of Finance

• Establishes and maintains the financial systems and procedures of GAPFA
• Reviews and certified financial statements for presentation to management, the Board or other stakeholders
• Coordinates the preparation of the overall budget for GAPFA
• Manages the funds of GAPFA efficiently to keep the association solvent
• Effects payment in accordance with established financial rules and regulations
• Collaborates with the internal audit unit for the maintenance of an effective system of internal control
• Liaises with external auditors for the audit of the company's accounts and attends to matters arising out of the audit
• Assists the Chief Executive to defend the association's budget at the management committee and executive council hearing
• Proposes financial targets for regional sales representatives and monitors compliance
• Supervises the work of the finance department
• Oversee the conduct of staff performance appraisal
• Develops frameworks for capacity building and financial reporting formats
• Recommends the list of assets for deletions from the fixed assets register

• A University Degree in any of the following: Finance, Economics, Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting)
• Final certification in any of the ff: ACCA, CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent
• A Master's Degree in a relevant field
• A minimum of 10 years relevant post professional qualification work experience of which 7 years must have been in management position in a reputable organization
• Must be computer literate
• Solid knowledge of advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting.
• Excellent knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Working knowledge of Accounting software (Tally) and MS Office
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Problem-solver with attention to detail
• Organizational and leadership skills
