- TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
- Serve as the electrical technical authority for housing facilities, including LV/MV distribution, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, backup power, and low-voltage systems.
- Review and approve electrical designs, load studies, schematics, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with Ghana Electrical Regulations, IEC standards, and company electrical policies.
- Supervise all site electrical works related to facilities, including housing, offices, utility buildings, and external services.
- Ensure electrical installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Coordinate daily electrical activities with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to avoid clashes and rework.
- Monitor workmanship quality and ensure compliance with company standards and statutory requirements.
- Produce electrical drawings and specifications for implementation on Project sites
- Lead technical deployment of EVs on site, including:
- EV charging station design, installation, and commissioning
- Load impact assessment on site power systems
- Integration of EV chargers with existing electrical infrastructure
- Support development of EV operational, safety, and maintenance procedures in collaboration with Facilities and Operations.
- CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION
- Oversee electrical works across housing construction and refurbishment projects.
- Provide technical supervision to the Project Supervisor within GEGL OM (POW).
- Lead testing, commissioning, and system handover for electrical and EV infrastructure.
- HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
- Enforce electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and EV charging safety requirements.
- Ensure contractor compliance with HSE plans and electrical permits-to-work.
- Conduct electrical and EV system inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- COORDINATION & REPORTING
- Collaborate with Project Manager, Civil Superintendent, Facilities, HSE and Procurement teams
- Provide progress reports, risk logs, and technical updates on electrical and EV systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is mandatory.
- Multicultural experience is an advantage
- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in electrical systems for facilities, power, or industrial environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience with power distribution upgrades, or energy systems, EV's highly desirable.
- Professional registration (GHIE or equivalent) is an added advantage
