- Supervise to ensure effective and efficient running of the procurement operations.
- Review purchase requisitions and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services in line with approved budget.
- Source and evaluate suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, service, reliability through standard purchasing specifications.
- Competitively negotiate prices, terms and contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure that best product and service is sourced and purchased.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality and pricing.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Train and evaluate the performance and conduct of procurement staff.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand material and service needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Research and identify new products and services for the hotel in the market.
- Liaise with Financial Accountant, Cost Controller and Storekeeper for cost efficiency and accurate purchase documentation to maintain accurate financial report.
- Analyze procurement data and prepare reports on purchasing trends and performance.
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies, guidelines and procedures in accordance with Hotel standards.
- Maintain effective record management for the procurement unit.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
- Professional disposition with good communication, interpersonal and reporting skills.
- Must be an analytical, a high degree of integrity, professionalism and ability to maintain high level of compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites - power point presentation, excel, word and knowledge of IDS, Oracle Fusion ERP systems, etc.
- Good knowledge in Public Procurement Act.
- Must understand hotel operations, customer focus and able to work long hours as and when duty demands.
- Must have at least a degree in Procurement and Logistics or Supply Chain Management or related field with at least Advance Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) UK.
- Having a master's degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
- Must have a minimum work experience of five (5) years as an officer.
- Previous experience in a hospitality industry will be an advantage.
- A minimum of four (4) years post qualification experience in a similar role.
- Membership of a professional body will be an added advantage.
