- Direct Reports: Plant Supervisors/ Sub-contractors
- Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting report;
- Participate in the design plan review, construction, equipment installation and commissioning of the current process plant, and optimize the subsequent production ramp.
- Responsible for the conduct of ad hoc test work, to support metallurgical projects, plant process optimization activities and for troubleshooting purposes within the Crushing, Milling, Flotation circuits, CIL, smelt and heap leach etc..
- Monitor and optimize process plant reagents and consumables;
- Responsible for the calibrating and efficient use of metallurgical equipment;
- Supervise metallurgical inventory otherwise referred to as Gold in Circuit Survey;
- Promote safety and safe work practices;
- Train and provide training opportunities to Metallurgical Technicians and Graduate Trainees to ensure they perform effectively;
- Prepare periodic reports and close out corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. This includes compiling and interpreting statistical data for reporting;
- Supervise daily plant sampling activities and ensure smooth submission to assay laboratory.
- Perform any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor.
- BSc in Mineral Engineer, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Applied Science (Metallurgical) from a recognized institution
- Process Engineer/ Supervisor Certificate (MINCOM)
- At least seven (7) years hands-on experience in Crushing, Milling, Flotation and CIL in a Gold Processing Plant
- Strong background in Crushing Milling, Flotation and CIL or CIP in Gold Processing Plant;
- Hands on experience and knowledge metallurgical Accounting and gold reconciliation;
- Demonstrate ability to initiate new projects to improve plant efficiency;
- Plant Operations supervisory skills;
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
- Good Metallurgical report writing skills;
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and database management;
- Drawing ability of using auto CAD.
