
Department Coordinator – Law and Public Policy

- Maintain up-to-date departmental records, including faculty CVs, teaching loads, research activities, and contact details.
- Manage departmental budgets and liaise with Finance on payments, reconciliations, and expenditure tracking.
- Schedule departmental meetings, record minutes, and track action items.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Department (HOD), including managing the calendar.
- Organize departmental events including the law week.
- Support accreditation and reaccreditation processes for the Law program.
- Coordinate moderation of syllabi and assessments, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs to facilitate student course evaluations and track feedback.
- Facilitate course and final examination moderation at the beginning of every semester.
- Review and update the academic catalogue at the beginning of each academic year upon the request of the academic affairs.
- Facilitate submission and signing of final grade reports.
- Facilitate events by providing supports such as booking venues, ensuring set up etc.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of adjunct, full-time, and visiting faculty, as well as Faculty Interns (FIs).
- Assist in the development of personnel and teaching plans for the academic year.
- Provide guidance to Faculty Interns on academic and classroom-related challenges.
- Coordinate the hiring cycle of Faculty Interns, including calls for applications, scheduling interviews, and final selection.
- Collect and share information on faculty research, publications, and professional development.
- Assist the Head of Department in departmental planning and execution of initiatives.
- Serve as liaison between the department and other administrative units such as Academic Affairs, Registry, Library, and HR.
- Contribute to departmental communication, including updates to the Law Department webpage and distribution of key information to faculty and students.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; an additional qualification is a plus.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in higher education administration is an advantage.
