We are seeking a skilled Sewing Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission by providing high-quality sewing services and training to our members and beneficiaries.Position Title: Sewing Specialist
Location: Inspire Her Ghana, Taifa
Duration: Contract
Reporting To: Admin OfficerPurpose of the RoleThe Sewing Specialist will be responsible for producing high-quality garments and accessories, training members in sewing techniques, and contributing to the overall success of our production unit. This role requires expertise in various sewing techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.Key Responsibilities1.Production:
  • Sewing high-quality designs of reusable sanitary pads and accessories according to product specifications and timelines.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Delivering on weekly and monthly production targets.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sewing machines and equipment as needed.
2. Training and Mentorship:
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship in product making to beneficiaries and another seamstress.
  • Develop and implement sewing workshops and skill development sessions.
  • Assess members' skill levels and provide individualized guidance to improve their sewing abilities.
3. Quality Control:
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Implement quality control procedures to minimize errors and ensure consistency.
4. Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work closely with other team members to achieve production goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes.
  • Support community outreach projects and events as needed.
Qualification Required & Experience
  • Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, or sewing specialist.
  • Proficiency in using various types of sewing machines and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of different fabrics, patterns, and sewing techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to train and mentor others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
