Core Transaction Duties:
  • Manage Returns & Exchanges: Process returns, refunds, and exchanges according to store policy.
  • Bag Purchases: Bag, box, or gift-wrap customer items.
  • Process Sales: Scan items, enter purchases, apply discounts, and manage sales using cash registers or Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Handle Payments: Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments, giving correct change and receipts.
Customer Service & Store Operations:
  • Greet Customers: Welcome customers and provide a friendly, positive demeanor.
  • Answer Questions: Assist with product information, store policies, and loyalty programs.
  • Resolve Issues: Handle complaints, de-escalate tensions, and resolve customer concerns.
  • Maintain Checkout Area: Keep the register, checkout lanes, and nearby retail areas clean, stocked, and organized.
Financial & Security Tasks:
  • Balance Register: Count money in the register at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Track Transactions: Record transactions and report discrepancies.
  • Follow Procedures: Adhere to policies for age-restricted products (alcohol, tobacco) and coupons
