- Manage Returns & Exchanges: Process returns, refunds, and exchanges according to store policy.
- Bag Purchases: Bag, box, or gift-wrap customer items.
- Process Sales: Scan items, enter purchases, apply discounts, and manage sales using cash registers or Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Handle Payments: Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments, giving correct change and receipts.
- Greet Customers: Welcome customers and provide a friendly, positive demeanor.
- Answer Questions: Assist with product information, store policies, and loyalty programs.
- Resolve Issues: Handle complaints, de-escalate tensions, and resolve customer concerns.
- Maintain Checkout Area: Keep the register, checkout lanes, and nearby retail areas clean, stocked, and organized.
- Balance Register: Count money in the register at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Track Transactions: Record transactions and report discrepancies.
- Follow Procedures: Adhere to policies for age-restricted products (alcohol, tobacco) and coupons
