Job DescriptionJob Offer DetailsThe Role: We are seeking an Experienced Electrical Technician with strong technical expertise and a passion for training the next generation of electrical professionals. The successful candidate will split their time between:
  • Project work with CETECH Ghana (installations, maintenance, control systems, etc.), and
  • Teaching/training duties at IPES Ghana, delivering short and long-term technical programs in electrical installation, maintenance, automation, and safety.

Experience Level: Mid to Senior Experience LevelKey Responsibilities
  • Technical / Project Work (CETECH Ghana)
  • Supervise and perform electrical installations (residential, commercial, and industrial)
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults, conduct system inspections, and implement repairs
  • Install and maintain control systems (PLCs, sensors, automation panels)
  • Interpret blueprints and electrical schematics (CAD experience preferred)
  • Ensure compliance with Ghana Electrical Code and international standards
  • Mentor junior technicians on project sites
Teaching / Training (IPES Ghana)Deliver structured courses from 3 months to 2 years in:
  • Electrical Installation
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Electrical Drafting & Design (AutoCAD)
  • Control Systems & PLCs
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Prepare lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments
  • Train students on real tools, equipment, and safety procedures
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback
  • Support curriculum development and TVET compliance
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:
  • TVET Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on electrical experience, including residential, commercial, or industrial projects
  • At least 1-2 years of teaching, training, or mentorship in a formal or informal setting
  • Familiarity with Ghanaian Electrical Code and safety regulations
  • Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting, installation, and control systems (PLCs)
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and electrical diagrams
Preferred:
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PLC programming, or electrical drafting
  • Prior work in a TVET institution or technical training environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage and inspire students with a practical, hands-on teaching style
