Job Vacancy For Trade ExpertAn international commodities company is seeking to employ a young, energetic, and highly motivated Trade Expert in Agricultural Products.Duties/Responsibilities:Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include the following:
  • Identification of suitable markets, taking account of logistics, shipping and official trade relationships
  • Analysis of import and export trends and readiness for the target products
  • Reviewing export support infrastructure
  • Identification of specific destination markets for niche/high value products
  • Identification and recommendation of value chain partners
  • Conducting estimations of projected export volume
Qualification Required & ExperienceRequirements:
  • A minimum of HND or 1st Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business administration and International Trade
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience
  • Significant private sector experience in import and export of agricultural products (crops, fruits, and vegetables) in and outside Ghana,
  • Active network of contacts in international agriculture trading (i.e., shipping, quality control, importers)
  • Excellent professional knowledge on global trends and practices in agricultural trade
  • Prior experience in engaging with policy makers and government organisations on trade policy.
  • Prior experience in trading to/from developing country context
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills in English;
  • Ability to communicate in French and local languages will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate ability to organise, supervise and monitor in a participatory approach
  • Good working knowledge of MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
