Reports To: Director, Mining SupportJob Summary: Leads the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Unit, driving the integration of responsible mining practices and sustainability standards across operations. Oversees the implementation of ESG strategies, ensuring compliance with national and international frameworks and promoting sustainable value creation in the gold sector.Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with global best practices and national priorities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards across gold production, refining, and trade.
- Engage stakeholders, including regulators, communities, and development partners on ESG initiatives.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on ESG performance and sustainability impacts.
- Guide the integration of climate resilience, biodiversity, and human rights standards in sector operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in ESG, sustainability, or environmental compliance, with 4 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, ISSB), and environmental and social regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership in multi-stakeholder engagement, policy development, and project implementation.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and team management skills.
