- Provide direction and advice in the efficient management and delivery of quality clinical care services, teaching, research and development within the Tamale Teaching Hospital
- Lead in the development of clinical care policies, guidelines, protocols and standards
- Take a proactive role in the development and implementation of clinical services in the hospital in accordance with National Policy
- Take lead role in ensuring that high clinical standards are met in the provision of specialist medical services
- Take lead role in developing and maintaining skills and knowledge in the specialist fields through an agreed CPD plan in line with the outcome of the annual appraisal process
- Lead and contribute to clinical supervision and promote the conduct of clinical research and development using evidence-based approach
- Manage and motivate clinical staff
- Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the Chief Executive
- Postgraduate qualification in Medical or Surgical discipline (Fellowship) with at least the grade of Senior Specialist
- A minimum of 10 years work experience in Medical practice, 5 of which must be at the senior management level
- Member of relevant and recognised professional body
- Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in health management
- Knowledge in coordinating and implementing research and development programmes
- Academic and professional certificate
