Additionally, AngloGold Ashanti prioritizes employee growth and development, offering ample opportunities for career advancement and professional enrichment.AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine has attained its original project schedule to become a modern efficient processing and underground mechanized operation, and it is now moving to achieving study state operation with the final aim of achieving 5000 tonnes per day processing.[ad]We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as per the details below:JOB POSTING : ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN-UNDERGROUNDDEPARTMENT : ENGINEERINGSTRATUM OF ROLE : I LEMPLOYMENT STATUS : PERMANENTCLOSING DATE : 28TH JULY,2025ROLE PURPOSEThe Electrical Technician – Underground reports to the Electrical Supervisor – Underground and is accountable for general low and medium voltage electrical maintenance and installations such as, Substations, Medium/Low voltage pumps maintenance, LV pumps installation for underground dewatering, establishing power supply and maintenance on Jumbo, Solo, Diamond drill rigs, compressors, installation of 1000V distribution boards, 1000/240V lighting DB, 1000V jumbo starters and 1000/440 Volts ventilation fans, Maintenance of conveyor and rock breakers, MV voltage switching and breaker maintenance in a safe and compliant manner as instructed during maintenance of the Underground Electrical infrastructure.Key Accountabilities

Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion.
Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan.
Accept personal responsibility for his/her own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by his work.
Work compliantly with the requirement of government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health and safety legislation and AGAG regulation.
Comply and follow the operating procedures and environmental rules for the performance of assigned job.
Must correct, or report to supervisor any observed environmental deviations, practices and conditions as well as make suggestions to improve any aspect of environmental management.
Interface with contractors as directed and or construction team regarding electrical work tasks for project work and planned works that support the overall work plan, schedule, and expectations.
Attend training, development, and performance improvement training as required.
Execute electrical refurbishment and maintenance work items as tasked – compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGAG
Gather information for the Electrical Supervisor – Underground for reporting performance.
Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies.
Assess all equipment required for completion of tasked work, update checklist, and transport all tools necessary for task completion.
Recognize any machine and electrical equipment anomalies that would indicate requirement for maintenance, report and escalate.
Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner/Electrical Supervisor to close out work orders in SAP on completion of tasked work for all underground and maintenance activities.
Execute work in a timely manner.
Carry out work cost effectively.
Stop any electrical equipment operation if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used and escalate to your supervisor.

[ad2]Qualification, Experience And Technical CompetenciesQualification

Minimum of Electrical Engineering Technician Certificate Part II or City and Guilds electrical certificate part II or associate degree or technical diploma in Engineering Technology or related field.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in electrical technical roles, preferably in the mining industry.

Technical Competencies

Fully literate and numerate.
Technical proficient in electrical equipment and systems works.
Knowledge in troubleshooting faults and repair of electrical systems.
Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail.
