REPORTING TO: Deputy Director, IT ServicesJOB ROLEThe IT system Administrator (Multimedia) leads the IT media section within the IT Directorate in support of the University's media development, management, and documentary programmes.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Digital Media Production: Develop and manage multimedia content across various platforms for the entire University community
- Live Event Support: Provide media and technical service expertise for University live events, including live streaming, hybrid meetings, and broadcasting.
- Technical Operations: Oversee technical aspects of media production, including equipment management and maintenance.
- Creative Software: Utilize industry-standard software for video editing, graphic design, and image enhancement.
- Specialized Equipment: Operate and manage specialized equipment, including drones, high-end cameras, and other media equipment.
- IT Infrastructure: Manage and troubleshoot Media equipment, IT hardware, and networking systems within the delivery of multimedia services.
- A good first degree in a Computer Engineering/Science, Information Technology, or other relevant areas.
- A master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology / Telecommunication Engineering, Data Communication, Media or a related creative field is recommended.
- Skills in development and management of communication/film and documentary projects from concept creation to completion, including storyboards, production, post-production editing, and final delivery format.
- Demonstration of the ability to transform clients/community multimedia needs into appealing artistic arrangements whilst maintaining alignment with the clients/community vision.
- Deployment and management of complete streaming and hybrid streaming of all forms, from multiple concurrent events to aerial support streaming to all platforms. Management of all technical aspects: power, video devices and their connectivity, sound, and giant screens.
- Expert user of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro for video editing and video graphics
- Expert user of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image enhancement
- Expert user of Corel and Adobe Suite for graphic design
- Expert user of Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) and mirrorless cameras in photography and film production.
- Expert user of DJI drones, with certification from GCAA, for both aerial photography and aerial film production
- Operation of professional and broadcast cameras for film, video,
- Advanced user of 3D Max and Poser for creation of 2D and 3D animations
- Networking and hardware management (assembling, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, real-time problem-solving, service, and results focus
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in various areas of service in management and communication/film and documentary projects, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, editing, and final delivery format is a
- Ability to communicate concepts and processes clearly and effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to plan and design projects, and to uphold high ethical and moral standards.
