Overview:The role of the Stores Officer is to ensure accurate accounting of materials received into the warehouse and carry out general stock administration.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, liaising with the requesting department/section, accounts, and the audit teams.
  • Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets the sites/subsidiary/departmental timescales/requirements.
  • Supervise and control order collecting, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.
  • Organize, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals, working with the audit teams.
  • Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
  • Deliver products to the requester on time, every time using appropriate methods.
  • Operate visual delivery tracking systems (Customs) in order that commodity status can be seen.
  • Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to, to support dispatch time windows.
  • Identify errors and eliminate root causes using robust counter measures.
  • Control of Forklift Truck management to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets.
  • Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring housekeeping standards are always maintained.
  • Monitor and maintain stock level accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages.
  • and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain the management of supplier return packaging.
  • Record and communicate all shortage issues on materials received.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by Superiors.
[ad]Qualifications/Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Higher National Diploma in Stores & Procurement. A BSc in Logistics & Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in Warehouse Management, inventory and stock.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
