- Develop and update short to medium-term mine plans, pit designs, and schedules.
- Monitor daily production activities and provide technical support to ensure mining is carried out according to plan.
- Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and operations teams to ensure accurate implementation of plans.
- Analyze production and drill/blast data to optimize mining processes.
- Conduct pit optimization studies using mine planning software
- Prepare reports, performance summaries, and variance analyses for mine performance.
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards in mine planning and execution.
- Contribute to cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.
- Participate in regular planning and production meetings, and present relevant technical information.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior engineers as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience in an Open-Pit Mining environment.
- Proficient in mine planning software.
- Strong knowledge of drill and blast planning, pit design, and production monitoring.
- Familiarity with mining equipment capabilities and operational constraints.
- Ability to interpret geological models and survey data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- Membership with a recognized professional engineering body (e.g., GhIE or equivalent).
- Mine Foreman Certificate of Competency/Blasting / Explosives Certificate of Competency
- Experience in gold mining and working in remote site conditions.
