- Set up and calibrate machines before daily production.
- Ensure machine interlocks are functioning before operation.
- Operate machines according to established parameters and guidelines.
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, weight, temperature).
- Monitor critical control points (CCP 1 and CCP 2).
- Monitor production output hourly to ensure product quality and reduce waste.
- Keep and update all records during and after operation.
- Maintain 5S standards and general hygiene.
- Follow SOPs for machine cleaning during and after operation.
- Comply with all safety, health, and environmental rules.
- Perform CIP/COP at the end of the production week.
- Document CIP and disinfection activities.
- Control and report raw material usage and machine output.
- Document and fix machine stops as they occur.
- Oversee routine cleaning of machines and metal detection equipment.
- Report maintenance needs and potential problems promptly.
- Report any identified problems with regards to the food safety management system to the Food Safety team for appropriate actions to maintain the integrity of the company
- Report near misses by filing and submitting the appropriate form immediately noticed
- SHE: Working safely and supporting the overall Safety, Health and Environment Management standards that apply to your work area.
- SSCE/HND in any related engineering course.
- Minimum 2-years proven experience as machine operator
- Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of current FSMS & ISO standards are a must.
- Knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery including any one or more of filling, cutting, packaging, pressing & wrapping granulating, boules, blending etc. machines and measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to identify patterns and trends from data.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to drive process improvements.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the food industry.
