- Preparation and Organization: Preparing required parts and tools in advance will streamline the repair process, making it more efficient.
- Thorough Inspections: Disassembling, inspecting, and cleaning engines and components will help identify issues early and ensure high-quality repairs.
- Accurate Documentation: Assisting with documentation such as work completed forms, time sheets, and warranty claims will ensure accurate records and support business operations.
- Continuous Learning: Completing training in line with skill and business requirements will keep you updated with the latest techniques and standards.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintaining cleanliness and proper operation of the work area and tools will create a safe and efficient working environment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any issues will contribute to a safe workplace for everyone.
- Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into effective troubleshooting plans, using mechanical and electronic tools to isolate and resolve issues, and documenting the process accurately.
- Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding of Cummins and industry standards, applying electrical theories and mechanical principles safely and efficiently to diagnose and repair products.
- Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Identifying and utilizing the appropriate hardware and software tools for service events, interpreting results to determine the next steps for resolution.
- Effective Service Documentation: Creating and verifying accurate records of customer, equipment, and technical information, ensuring all work is documented in the service management system for payment and historical tracking.
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
- Minimal level of workshop experience required
- Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Must be a qualified and experienced driver
- Must be willing to operate a Forklift
