
Senior Lecturer/Lecturer for General Chemistry and Biochemistry

- Design, develop, and deliver engaging lectures and laboratory sessions in General Chemistry and Biochemistry tailored to undergraduate students.
- Foster an active learning environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Implement authentic assessment strategies, including project-based assignments, presentations, and practical demonstrations.
- Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, instructional resources, and laboratories.
- Mentor students academically and professionally, encouraging inquiry and experiential learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, student activities, and research initiatives.
- Contribute to departmental and university service activities.
- A PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field; candidates with relevant teaching or industry experience are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching, active learning, and innovative pedagogies.
- Experience in designing and assessing authentic, project-based, or experiential learning activities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills.
- Prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred.
- Willingness to engage in research and supervise undergraduate projects.
- Familiarity with the liberal arts method of instruction. An undergraduate education at a liberal arts college is a plus.
- Brief overview of research interests (optional for part-time faculty)
- A one to two-page statement of teaching philosophy, explaining the benefits of the proposed approach to teaching and learning
- Names and contact addresses of three professional references, of whom at least two can directly attest to teaching and student counselling capabilities or potential.
