CLOSING DATE: 10 March 2026OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
- We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrical Technician to execute electrical installations, maintenance, and repair activities in line with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Limited (AAIL) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- The role plays a critical part in ensuring operational reliability, proactive fault detection, and timely reporting of deviations to maintain plant efficiency and safety.
- Test repaired motors and starters to confirm functionality and performance standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical power and control systems, including soft starters, drives, and related equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections and scheduled maintenance activities across assigned equipment.
- Identify and resolve technical Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) anomalies in accordance with established procedures.
- Execute all tasks in compliance with ISO and OHS standards, prioritizing safety at every stage.
- Ensure safe work permits are properly completed and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures are implemented before commencing work.
- Promptly report accidents, incidents, and near-misses and actively participate in investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Higher National Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technician Part II, III or Advanced, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of seven years of practical experience within a Carbon in Leach processing plant environment.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of milling circuits, gravity circuits, leaching processes, compressors, and substation operations.
- Experience within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Sound understanding of workplace safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Proven capability in troubleshooting electrical power and control systems.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and diverse workgroups.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Valid Ghanaian driver's license with the ability to operate light vehicles.
