- Maintain and update compliance policies and controls, including Financial Crime Policy and Risk Management & Compliance Programme.
- Monitor compliance frameworks and ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
- Support client onboarding in Ghana and across Africa.
- Ensure CDD/KYC processes are followed during onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
- Provide required compliance information to banks and counterparties.
- Assist with bank account openings and ensure timely submission of documents.
- Conduct risk assessments for money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crime.
- Oversee transaction monitoring and escalate suspicious activity to regulators (e.g., FIC, SEC, BOG).
- Ensure regulatory filings are submitted on time and maintain sanctions compliance.
- Deliver AML and compliance training to staff, including high-risk teams.
- Conduct internal reviews and audits and support external audits.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and the Board.
- Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Relevant AML/Compliance certifications (e.g., ACAMS, MLRO, Certificate in Compliance Management).
- 3+ years’ experience in a compliance role within financial services, fintech, or banking.
- Strong knowledge of AML legislation and local/international compliance regulations.
- Experience liaising with banks and regulators is a plus.
- Self-starter able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to be appointed as director / legal representative for corporate, banking, or regulatory purposes as required.
