To oversee the development, implementation, and support of health information systems that handle claims processing, customer data, and regulatory compliance.[ad]Should be able to monitor cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive patient and policyholder information from unauthorized access or breaches. Collaborate with other departments to integrate technological solutions that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. Additionally, the IT Officer must provide technical support and training to staff, ensuring effective use of IT resources across the organization.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain, monitor, and support the organization's servers (Windows/Linux) including backups, patching, and basic user access management.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of computers, printers, and other hardware.
  • Ensure proper functioning of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
  • Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Set up and configure new workstations, laptops, and office equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-level faults on laptops, desktops, and other devices.
  • Assist with the implementation of IT security policies and data protection standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors or service providers for support and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation of all IT assets.
  • Participate in IT audits and support compliance with health industry regulations (e.g., data privacy, system availability).
JOB SPECIFICATIONEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, or CCNA (Nice to Have but Not Mandatory).
[ad2]Experience2–5 years of relevant experience in an IT support or system administration role, preferably in a health insurance or a healthcare industry.Key SkillsSolid understanding of:
  • Server administration (basic to intermediate)
  • Networking concepts (IP addressing, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS)
  • Hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environments (desktop and server).
  • Familiarity with basic cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) or backup systems.
