Degas Africa is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager to join our growing team in Ghana. This role is focused on driving sales of our maize and soya products across the Ashanti Region, with a strong emphasis on building lasting customer relationships, developing the Kumasi market, and leading a small field sales team.This is an opportunity for a senior sales professional who already knows the agricultural landscape in Kumasi and the surrounding districts and who is ready to put that network to work while helping build Degas' commercial presence in the region.Key responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed targets across the Ashanti Region, with a primary focus on Kumasi and surrounding districts
  • Leverage and expand an existing network of buyers, agro-dealers, cooperatives, and off-takers in the maize and soya market
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing clients
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closing
  • Lead and coach a small team of Sales Officers in the field, setting targets, reviewing pipelines, and developing their commercial skills
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, pricing dynamics, and the competitive landscape in the region
  • Provide regular updates on sales performance, team pipeline, and market insights to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with logistics and product teams to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Represent Degas professionally in all client interactions and contribute to the company's reputation in the Ashanti market
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience in sales, with a strong background in agriculture, commodities, or a related sector. Maize and soya experience is a significant advantage
  • Established commercial network in the Kumasi area and the broader Ashanti Region, including agro-dealers, cooperatives, off-takers, or farmer-based organisations
  • At least 5 years of field sales experience, with some prior exposure to leading or mentoring a sales team
  • Strong commercial mindset with solid understanding of sales processes, territory management, and commodity pricing dynamics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the Ashanti Region and beyond when needed
  • Fluency in Twi is a strong advantage
