We are seeking a highly organized, commercially astute, and operationally strong Retail and Bulk Distribution Lead to lead and oversee the performance of all company-operated retail outlets and bulk customer operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enforcing systems, processes, and controls to ensure efficient site operations, sales growth, loss prevention, and regulatory compliance.This is a leadership role that combines strategic planning with hands-on operational management, requiring an individual with strong analytical, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.ResponsibilitiesRetail Network Management
  • Oversee the daily operations of all company-operated and affiliated retail outlets, ensuring consistent service quality, brand standards, and profitability.
  • Ensure retail stations operate within budget and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and implement systems for site performance evaluation and operational audits.
  • Supervise station managers, pump attendants, and retail supervisors, providing training and coaching to drive high performance.
  • Lead the expansion and optimization of the retail network in alignment with corporate growth objectives.
[ad]Bulk Customer Operations
  • Manage relationships with bulk consumers, commercial clients, and institutional accounts.
  • Oversee bulk fuel delivery scheduling, pricing, invoicing, and collections in coordination with the sales and finance teams.
  • Monitor service delivery standards to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Sales & Performance Management
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet and exceed retail and bulk sales targets.
  • Analyse sales trends, customer preferences, and competitive activities to refine pricing and marketing approaches.
  • Ensure real-time reporting of sales data from all outlets and provide performance dashboards for management.
  • Coordinate promotional campaigns and loyalty programs to enhance market penetration.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Design and implement operational and financial control mechanisms to detect and prevent revenue leakages, fuel losses, and theft.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., NPA, GRA, EPA) and internal company policies.
  • Regularly review, document, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all retail activities.
  • Develop and enforce credit policies to ensure prompt collection of receivables from bulk customers and retail partners.
  • Monitor credit exposures and outstanding payments, escalating issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the finance team to reconcile customer accounts and manage credit limits.
  • Generate periodic credit risk and aging reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Implement systems that support customer vetting, credit evaluation, and automated reminders for overdue accounts.
Credit Control
  • Track invoices issued to bulk and retail customers to ensure prompt payment.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to reconcile payments and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of invoicing, collections, and payment status.
  • Follow up diligently with clients on overdue invoices while maintaining professional relationships.
  • Provide monthly reports on invoicing, collections, and cash flow status.
Stock and Supply Chain Management
  • Oversee product ordering, fuel stock level monitoring, inventory reconciliation, and product delivery across all retail stations.
  • Collaborate with the logistics and depot teams to ensure uninterrupted product supply.
  • Ensure physical stock matches financial records and develop exception reporting tools for accountability.
Technology & Systems Development
  • Drive the digital transformation of retail operations through the implementation of fuel management systems, POS solutions, ERP integration, and automated reporting tools.
  • Evaluate and upgrade technology platforms to improve efficiency, customer experience, and data accuracy.

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years’ management-level experience in an Oil Marketing Company or a similar industry.
  • Proven record in B2B sales, fuel marketing, and commercial management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, data analytics, and digital marketing tools
  • Methodical thinker with operational discipline and market insight
