This is an Obuasi based Fixed Term position with a competitive work roster at its operations in Obuasi. Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance-based incentive payments for the right candidates.[ad]The position will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your career in underground maintenance planning and mine control while working alongside experienced industry professionals in a safe, dynamic and outcome focused environment.Job PurposeThe Maintenance Planner is responsible for organizing, scheduling and coordinating the maintenance activities of equipment and infrastructure used. The goal is to maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient and cost -effective operation.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance schedules for underground mobile equipment, fixed plant, and mine infrastructure in line with OEM specifications and site requirements.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work orders in collaboration with Maintenance Supervisors, Engineers, and the Operations team.
  • Ensure timely procurement of parts, materials, and services to support planned maintenance activities
  • Monitor and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate records of all planned and completed work.
  • Review maintenance reports, inspections, and equipment performance to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of major equipment failures and assist in developing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to manage spare parts inventory and critical component availability.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities comply with company safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
  • Assist in developing long-term maintenance strategies, including shutdown and overhaul planning.
  • Provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on maintenance performance and equipment downtime.
[ad2]Required Skills or Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Basic mechanical or technical knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in a workshop, maintenance, or technical environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of tools, machinery, and workshop safety procedures.
  • MINCOM Certification will be an added advantage.
  • Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses (C & E Classes) and can drive SUV underground.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Strong organizational and housekeeping skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling heavy tools and equipment
  • Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of computer testing technologies
  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate safety consciousness
  • Ability, self-driven and ready to learn
  • Must have a valid community validation form
