Job Category: CG - Custodial, Grounds & MaintenanceJob Description:This position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can work, worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Each Church facility that is built and/or maintained should 1) Provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and 2) Present an image of reverence and dignity in the community.This position performs journey level custodial work.Responsibilities:Clean offices, restrooms, public areas, etc. as instructed including fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, air vents, furniture, equipment, windowsills, walls, etc.Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, large scrubbers and sweepers, and extraction equipment, etc.Sanitize areas, furnishings, or fixtures as instructedWet or damp mop floorsDust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, windowsills, wood paneling, etc.Spot clean carpets, rugs and upholsteryDispose of trash, waste, and other materialsPerform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc.Restock suppliesMove furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipmentRemove leavesOn call responsibilities may be requiredReport safety or security issues and needed repairsMay assist in setting up meeting rooms for special meetings as requestedMay perform minor repairsPerform other duties and attend meetings as assignedQualifications:
Must have a Senior High School Diploma or a higher Diploma in Housekeeping or a related field
Comprehensive understanding of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipmentAbility to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 23kgAbility to stand, walk, kneel, climb, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of timeAbility to work with commercial-grade cleaners, chemicals and equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums etc.Ability to operate basic hand tools and make small repairsAbility to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervisionMust have a positive attitude with the ability to work as a teamAbility to understand and write English for general communication, video training, building security, and safetyCapable of understanding instructions both verbally and in writing and able to ask clarifying questions as neededMust comply with all regulations associated with the handling of chemicalsPrevious experience or knowledge in a similar role preferredMay be required to work odd hoursMust be in good healthMust be an independent user of a computer and familiar with the microsoft suite of productsMust be worthy of a Temple Recommend
