Job Summary:The Head of Legal will provide strategic legal leadership and oversight to the business units, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to drive legal excellence and support business growth.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of legal documents, including commercial agreements, procurement contracts, joint ventures, investment agreements, and partnership arrangements.
  • Manage all legal aspects of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, mediation, and settlement negotiations, in collaboration with external counsel when necessary.
  • Provide legal interpretation and guidance on laws, regulations, and compliance requirements affecting business operations, including corporate governance, labor law, and industry-specific legislation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal, regulatory, reputational, and contractual risks across all business units.
  • Lead legal due diligence and support strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate restructuring.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks that promote legal and ethical compliance.
  • Act as a key advisor to executive leadership on legal strategy, business structuring, and risk exposure, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Manage the company’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements.
  • Establish and lead training and awareness programs to ensure employees understand their legal obligations and compliance responsibilities.
  • Build and manage a high-performing legal team, ensuring continuous development, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and government agencies to ensure favorable outcomes for the business and maintain a strong legal and ethical reputation.
  • Oversee the appointment and supervision of external legal counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
