- Accounting:
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Financial Audit:
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of financial audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulations.
- Conduct substantive testing, analytical procedures, and risk assessments to identify potential issues or discrepancies.
- Execute audit procedures, including documenting processes, testing controls, and performing data analysis.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Communicate audit results and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Define recommendations to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Tax Compliance:
- Support tax compliance efforts by preparing necessary documentation and working with the tax team to ensure timely filing.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact financial reporting.
- Research Analysis:
- Conduct research on complex accounting issues and provide guidance on proper accounting treatment.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Documentation:
- Maintain organized and accurate audit and accounting records, including workpapers and supporting documentation.
- Ensure documentation complies with audit standards.
- Supervise the team to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budget.
- Develop and implement necessary measures to ensure flexible work practice and team building.
- Carry out performance appraisals and development plans (including training) with subordinate staff.
- Implement training and development program for staff in line with the organization’s technical and business needs.
- Coordinate the rotational schedule (on and off duty) of subordinate staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, or Economics is a plus.
- Relevant professional certification (CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Multicultural experience is mandatory.
- Proficiency in French is a plus.
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a similar role (accounting, audit, or financial reporting), preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Proficiency with financial software (e.g., SAP, Sage).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
- Strategic Vision: Drive projects towards improving efficiencies based on processes and procedures.
- Efficient Project Management: Contribute to projects aimed at improving efficiencies through effective processes and procedures.
- Strong Leadership: Capable of addressing technical, financial, and HR challenges in a dynamic work environment.
