Job Vacancy For Head of Sports

• Coordinating and supervising activities of personnel engaged in gathering and delivering sports news items and special reports portfolio.

• Design, formulate and implement policies to guide the production and programming of sports news items
• Plan and schedule programming and sports event coverage based on broadcast length, time availability and other factors
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in broadcast news, sports or programming
• Establish work schedules and assign work to staff members and monitor and review programmes to ensure that schedules are met
• Read news, read or record public service and promotional announcements or perform other on air-duties
• Evaluate new and existing programming to assess suitability and the need for changes using information such as audience surveys and feedback
• Develop budgets for sports programming and broadcasting activities and monitor expenditures to ensure that they remain within budgetary limits
• Manage and co-ordinate all activities in the area of sports

• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication and any other related disciplines

• A minimum of 3 years to 5 years work experience as a broadcast Journalist/News Anchor or in a similar role
• Demonstrable knowledge and interest in sports journalism
• Excellent leadership and organisation skill
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong team player, creative and innovative with an engaging personality
• Excellent ICT skills in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to engage with direct reports and persons at different levels in society with tact
• Must have high level or integrity
• Strong ethical values
