Key Accountabilities and Decision OwnershipProcurement
  • Interactions with stakeholders across the business to build strong and credible relationships to maximize overall delivery.
  • Use best practice and category management tools to identify opportunities, with the ability to leverage extensive knowledge across spend categories, and project delivery as well as global sourcing, whiles utilizing Design to Cost and Supply Chain Cost Modelling methodologies to extract and maximize value.
  • Use sound judgement-based demand management analysis and is expected to resolve complex problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of sound managerial, leadership and management models.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert, advising management and Board on all matter related to the skill pool and drive the application of Business Partnering concepts to engage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drives overall supply chain management strategies, processes and governance systems to ensure the delivery of SCM strategic Imperatives and Targets.
  • Define best practices and drive compliance to SCM governance related to sustainable sourcing, and health safety, security and environmental (HSSE) management.
  • Deliver operational responsibilities including meeting savings targets, PR/PO process turnaround, contract and supplier performance management and relationship management.
People Management
  • Identify potential talent and nurture the talents to be the next leaders, creating a clear path for growth and internally fulfilling all roles.
  • Identify capacity building needs of the team and implementing the right interventions to close the skills gap of the team.
  • Keep the team engaged and well-motivated to live the Telecel values, including embodying the ethical values required for driving the function
[ad]Logistics Management
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on all matters of warehousing, customs clearance, inventory management, transportation and asset disposal, driving value improvement through deeper insights whiles drawing on finance and accounting skills to ensure the preservation of value.
Contract Management
  • Demonstrate an extensive understanding of the legal and regulatory environment, mastering contract management, drafting and administration while supporting Legal to institute robust contracts that create and protect value whiles mitigating potential and identifiable risks.
Governance
  • Drive the achievement of key performance metrices like cost avoidance and cost savings targets.
  • Drive the performance of Supplier Performance Management (SPM)reviews on critical vendors.
  • Conduct periodic training and capacity building for vendors on changing supply market dynamics and policies.
  • Maintain a GDPR compliant master data management set-up and ensure compliance to all relevant legal requirements thereof.
  • Conduct periodic spend analysis to inform the institution of a supply market risk management framework for diversifying and mitigating supply market risks.
  • Ensuring compliance to global ESG sustainability standards.
ERP Systems
  • Ensure the configuration of the Oracle ERP to conform with best practices whiles maintaining compliance to robust, risk-free procure-to-pay (P2P) process as well as material and supplier master data environment.
Must Have Technical/professional Qualifications
  • First Degree or HND. in Procurement & Supply Chain Management with not less than 10 years’ experience, OR a Commercial or Engineering Degree with not less than 15 years’ experience, the last 5 years of which should have been in the practice of procurement and supply chain management at an Executive level.
  • PLUS, a professional qualification in Procurement / Supply Chain Management preferably MCIPS status with 5yrs post qualification experience in a procurement role.
  • A master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Telecoms or Materials Engineering is a plus.
