
Technical Training Instructor & Assessor - Mantrac

- Co-ordinate and assist in the technical development of all Service Staff, including Trainee Service Engineers and Apprentices.
- Conduct ILT (Instructor-Led Training).
- Conduct On-the-Job Training and skill assessments, as and when required.
- Update the HR system with the training attendees' data and progress.
- Follow up with Trainees and Apprentices on their training progress through the Monthly evaluation and Daily diary.
- Maintain files for Trainee’s Diaries and Evaluations, and continually update Trainee and Apprentices data sheets.
- Identify individual training needs and subsequent Individual Development Plans, through the technical training annual survey and during the courses.
- Ensure all training-related information sources, such as CAT Parts Pro and CAT Basics libraries, etc, are fully utilized and up-to-date, and provide utilization status reports when required.
- Conduct skills and knowledge assessments for the Service Department personnel following TCDP.
- Ensure that performance standards are established and maintained to align with the Learning Plans skills matrix.
- Mentor service technicians to improve their performance.
- Ensure compliance with the training KPIs.
- • Works with Service Supervisors/Managers and Training Manager/instructors to establish dealership’s training requirements and set training objectives and schedule for the coming year.
- • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for new employees according to the trainees’ Manual and the apprentices’ Manual.
- • Assist in the development of Trainee Service Engineers and Apprentices by acting as a focal point, capable of developing a close relationship with the trainee and apprentice, providing guidance and individual tuition as appropriate.
- • Keep management informed on all training activities. - e.g., Produce and maintain records for Parts Pro utilisation, maintain Daily Training diaries and Monthly Evaluation sheets for Trainee Service Engineers and Apprentices in an acceptable file, provide course attendance registers, etc
- • Assist in the planning and scheduling of self-development programs for Service Engineers. Parts Pro Utilisation reports are provided quarterly.
- • Responsible for ensuring Parts Pro usage meets or exceeds KPI requirements.
- Higher National Diploma or BTech/B.Sc. in Mechanical, Mining, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering. An engineering-related discipline is an advantage.
- Mechanical, Electrical, and IT knowledge. Extensive Caterpillar knowledge i.e. Construction, Mining, and Power Generation.
- Ability to develop close relationships with trainees and apprentices, providing guidance and individual tuition as appropriate.
- Experience in planning and scheduling self-development programs for Service Engineers.
